The Vice President of Operations will play a pivotal role in leading and optimizing the operational framework of the company. The VP of Operations will oversee all aspects of construction management, project execution, and operational efficiency, ensuring the seamless coordination of projects while maintaining EDA’s mission, vision and standards of safety, quality, and client satisfaction. As a key member of the executive leadership team, they will collaborate closely with the COO and other senior leaders to drive operational excellence and long-term profitability.

Project Management & Oversight:

  • Lead client meetings throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Supervise project managers and ensure adherence to standards.
  • Oversee overall project life cycle standards to include financial budget accuracy, change orders, purchase orders, service operations, and quality assurance inspections.

Financial Management:

  • Manage project budgets, participate in weekly, quarterly, and annual budgeting, and oversee P&L performance.

Team Leadership:

  • Manage a team of Project Directors, Project Managers, and Assistants, including recruiting, onboarding, performance reviews, and professional development. 

Client Relations:

  • Maintain client relationships, attend PM/client meetings, and resolve escalated conflicts. 
Industry Knowledge & Compliance:
  • Stay current on industry knowledge and best practices, ensuring safety, and compliance.
  • Participant in industry networking events.

Job Responsibilities

  • Create goals and strategies in support of development of team members aligned to growth strategy of the organization
  • Responsible for overseeing all stages of pre-construction to include ensuring all construction objectives and standards are met, forecasting, tracking/reporting project costs/revenue and adherence to project estimates, finding solutions to problems as they arise, ensuring all equipment and materials are available on-site as needed, interfacing with city, county and governmental reviewers and inspectors, managing the relationship with general contractors and direct vendors, coordinating with creative and ride/show staff to deliver an integrated project, partnering with project management and the facility design team to ensure timely construction development, and ensuring project(s) are completed on time and within budget
  • Provide regular review of all construction teams project progress to ensure safety and proper development
  • Ensures project control reporting documents are produced clearly and reflect the schedule and time status, cost or budget considerations, changes, supplier performance, and other risk levels.
  • Lead and support the development, review, and analysis of program and project schedules.
  • Provide oversight, management, and quality assurance of deliverables from the project controls system.

Requirements, Skills, & Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction management, with at least 8 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of the commercial envelope to include, roofing, waterproofing, wall panel, masonry
  • Proficient in MS Office, MS Project, and other relevant programs for construction management software and technology
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication abilities.
  • Influence and drive cross-functional problem solving to ensure the attainment of continuous improvement objectives
  • Ability to lead and work well with individuals at all levels of the organization
