The Contract Manager shall manage and oversee all contract-management functions per the assigned project and coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders on matters necessary for maintaining compliance with all relative contracts, internal processes, customer requirements, and applicable law.
Job Responsibilities
- Contract lifecycle management from pursuit, bid, proposals, negotiations, award, execution and closeout.
- Review, analyze and conduct risk assessments of contract terms and conditions and develop negotiation plans.
- Create and review subcontracts related to other GCs, vendors, Pos, indemnities and warranties.
- Lead contract negotiations.
- Identify and report subcontractor commercial and contractual issues within the constraints of the prime contract, customer requirements, and applicable law.
- Provide contract advice to and work with various functional areas such as Estimating, Project Management, Engineering, Finance, etc..
- Identify, review and address contract formation, interpretation and administration issues
- Support Contract process flow and data input with Ironclad.
- Fairly evaluate subcontractor changes and claims with respect to cause, effect, entitlement, pricing, and substantiation.
- Prepare and / or review draft contractual correspondence for assigned subcontracts.
- Assist the project team with contractual and commercial matters by developing strategies and providing recommendations to prevent, mitigate and / or transfer risk exposure.
- Ensure compliance and manage maintenance of required contractual securities and insurance policies of assigned subcontracts.
- Assist the project team in the development and implementation of contract-management policies, procedures, and systems.
- Assist in the preparation of internal and external monthly reports on contractual and commercial matters.
- Maintain logs, documents, correspondence, and registers for subcontractor contract files, correspondence, changes, claims and risks & opportunities.
- Complete all contract close-out activities at the conclusion of the project, including validation of all commercial obligations of assigned subcontracts.
- As needed, support the Procurement team with preparation of contract terms and conditions.
- All other duties as assigned.
Education, Skills, & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in paralegal, business, construction management or related degree OR minimum of 5 years of work experience in a contract-management role within the construction industry
- Ability to interact with and present to Executives, Directors and Managers across the project team, internally and externally.
- Effective communication skills with ability to collaborate at multiple levels of operations personnel and functional staff.
- Strong negotiating skills with ability to lead or support commercial / contractual negotiations with subcontractors, customers, suppliers, and partners.
- Commercial acumen with a proactive approach to problem solving.
- Strong organizational skills with ability to work effectively under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and manage conflicting
