Position Summary
As a Senior Safety Coordinator, you will lead efforts to ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OSH) guidelines, aiming to minimize the risk of job-related accidents. You will oversee and enhance safety operations, identify and mitigate hazardous activities, and provide strategic advice on safety measures. This role involves collaborating closely with the safety leaders to develop and implement comprehensive safety policies and programs, promoting a culture of safety awareness across the organization.
The Senior Safety Coordinator will be an expert in OSH regulations, possess exceptional attention to detail to identify potential hazards, and demonstrate strong communication skills to influence safety perceptions and practices among diverse teams in both office and field environments.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the evaluation of practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and enforce adherence to preventative measures.
- Conduct thorough investigations of accidents and incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare detailed reports on safety occurrences and provide statistical analysis to senior management.
- Oversee the inspection of equipment and machinery to identify and rectify unsafe conditions.
- Design, initiate, and manage comprehensive OHS training programs for all employees.
- Collaborate with clients and customers to ensure compliance with safety standards and proactively address safety issues.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Extensive experience as a Safety professional, with a proven track record in a senior or leadership role.
- Deep knowledge of OSH guidelines, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Advanced training and certifications in safety management (e.g., CSP, ASP, or equivalent).
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and safety management software.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field
- Exceptional attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to drive safety initiatives and influence organizational change.
