General Responsibilities

  • Uphold and embody the EDA Core Values, serving as an ambassador for the company.

Specific Responsibilities

 

  • Strategically evaluate new projects for potential challenges impacting budget and profitability, providing proactive recommendations to the Operations Team. Assign and oversee project management teams.
  • Collaborate with Estimators during the bidding process, assisting in early project strategy development and bridging gaps between departments.
  • Provide oversight for projects from inception to completion, managing budget, costs, unexpected events, and overall progress against plan while meeting or exceeding customer expectations and profitability objectives.
  • Assign project management teams based on project scope and complexity, offering guidance throughout the project lifecycle and ensuring critical milestones are met.
  • Facilitate effective transition of project information from preconstruction to field work.
  • Organize exterior skin coordination meetings and manage a vendor and subcontractor quality control program to ensure customer satisfaction and inform future project buyouts.
  • Evaluate project outcomes during closeout, sharing lessons learned with staff and identifying procedural improvements.
  • Mentor, train, and coach staff to meet or exceed company standards and customer satisfaction.
  • Assist in the hiring process by sourcing and screening candidates who align with EDA values and promote a culture of advancement.
  • Conduct regular department meetings to share insights, improve processes, and provide training in project management procedures.
  • Utilize industry contacts to monitor customer confidence and promote the EDA brand as a leader in the field, incorporating interdepartmental interaction into performance evaluation

  • Set and pursue personal professional goals, developing action plans to achieve them.
  • Take on additional responsibilities to enhance organizational efficiency.
  • Pursue further professional education through reading, courses, or other means, focusing on personal effectiveness, time management, leadership, and industry-specific topics.
  • Mentor and positively influence colleagues to support their career growth.
  • Create and implement a plan to enhance emotional intelligence skills.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree desired in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • 10 years of preconstruction or construction in commercial construction.
  • Proven track record, strong leadership skills, and experience managing complex projects.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and work well with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong decision-making skills.
