About BBCI:  In 2018, EDA Contractors purchased Bregenzer Brothers, a historical restoration slate and copper roofing company which was founded in 1919 and specialized in old world craftsmanship and high-quality building work.  

 

Job Summary

EDA is currently seeking a Director of Operations to support the centralized operations and project management teams located at BBCI headquarters in Ewing, New Jersey. Known today as Bregenzer Brothers Company, Inc (BBCI), they remain the most respected leaders in the installation and restoration of historical slate roofs, custom copper gutters, leader heads, and other integral components in the region. Their work can be seen in some of New Jersey's most beautiful and historic structures, including buildings on prestigious campuses like Princeton University and the Lawrenceville School, as well as other facilities, churches, and stately private residences throughout the state.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overseeing all stages of construction and construction team to include ensuring all construction objectives and standards are met, forecasting, tracking/reporting project costs/revenue and adherence to project estimates, finding solutions to problems as they arise, ensuring all equipment and materials are available on-site as needed, interfacing with city, county and governmental reviewers and inspectors, managing the relationship with general contractors and direct vendors, coordinating with creative and ride/show staff to deliver an integrated project, partnering with project management and the facility design team to ensure timely construction development, and ensuring project(s) are completed on time and within budget
  • Lead and manage a team of leaders and cross functional operational groups, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture
  • Create goals and strategies in support of development of team members aligned to growth strategy of the organization
  • Management and oversight of construction team projects to ensure they adhere to the project specific timeline and budget constraints
  • Provide regular review of construction team project progress to ensure safety and proper development
  • Ensures project control reporting documents are produced clearly and reflect the schedule and time status, cost or budget considerations, changes, supplier performance, and other risk levels.
  • Assist with the development, review, and analysis of program and project schedules.
  • Assist with program and project data analysis to gage process and assess gaps for senior management engagement.
  • Provide oversight, management, and quality assurance of deliverables from the project controls system.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Influence and drive cross-functional problem solving to ensure the attainment of continuous improvement objectives
  • Recommends methods, materials and layouts for improvement based on manufacturing needs and capabilities
  • Ability to lead and work well with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Proven experience leading a team of Project Managers and field operations
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • Ability to analyze information quickly and accurately
  • Ability to build teams and process to support rapid scale and future growth
  • Ability to manage multiple projects from conception to completion

Requirements

  • BS in Construction Management, Business or Related Field
  • 4+ Years of team management experience in a similar operational/field setting
  • Strong technical knowledge of the commercial envelope to include, roofing, waterproofing, wall panel, masonry
  • Proficient in MS Office, MS Project, and other relevant programs
  • Strong verbal, written communication and presentation skills
