Michael Coar
Influential Director of Engineering
Michael Coar joined EDA in 2011 and is currently the Director of Engineering. In this role, Michael leads a team of technical experts across EDA's various commercial envelope disciplines, providing leadership, guidance, and executive oversight to ensure that customers are being served with the best products and applications intended to exceed expectations. Michael has over 23 years of industry experience in exterior wall systems, from estimating to project management.
Michael graduated from Drexel University with a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Michael was recruited to Drexel to play D-1 Ice Hockey, where he was a team captain and helped lead Drexel to its very first conference championship in 2001.
Outside of his professional life, Michael is a grateful husband and a proud father to a wonderful autistic boy. He is an avid fan of the Phillies, Eagles, Flyers, and Yankees. Michael enjoys being outdoors, sipping whiskey by a fire, and listening to music. Continually striving for self-improvement, Michael has learned to be flexible, appreciate the small things, celebrate the little wins, and always try to see the positives in everything.
