2025 EDA Cares Charities

Written by Admin | Jul 15, 2025 1:30:00 PM

EDA Cares was created to unite our community around a shared purpose: supporting individuals and causes that matter to our team. Through the volunteer efforts of our EDA Cares Committee and the support of our entire organization, we empower employees to make a meaningful impact on the causes closest to them.

From grassroots efforts to deeply personal missions, each partnership reflects our commitment to compassion, community, and creating lasting change.

Associated Humane Societies
Associated Humane Societies is New Jersey’s largest animal sheltering system, dedicated to rescuing and caring for stray, abandoned, and abused animals. With three shelter locations and the Popcorn Park sanctuary, the organization provides compassionate care, low-cost veterinary services, and humane education to promote responsible pet guardianship across the state.

As the newest addition to our 2025 Charities of Choice, EDA has already shown its support by raising funds through the sale of custom EDA pet bandanas and donating essential linens to the shelter.

F5 Alumni Band Association
The F5 Alumni Band Association (FABA) is a nonprofit organization founded by alumni of Trenton Central High School’s F5 Band, dedicated to mentoring and empowering local youth through music, community, and the arts. By fostering personal growth and creative expression, FABA helps keep band culture alive while providing students with the tools they need to succeed.

From sponsoring book scholarships for college-bound seniors to funding warm-up suits and supporting FABA’s annual clothing and toy drive, the EDA Cares Committee continues to uplift students and help preserve the rich tradition of band culture in our communities.

G's Giving Gowns
G's Giving Gowns is a nonprofit organization that creates and donates handmade hospital gowns and port access shirts to pediatric patients. Founded by 13 year old Giuliana in honor of her cousin’s cancer journey, the organization brings comfort, dignity, and a touch of joy to children undergoing medical treatment.

This year, at EDA’s annual Town Hall, proceeds from the 50/50 raffle were donated to G’s Giving Gowns, helping to create more custom gowns for children in need and bringing comfort to young patients during hospital stays.

Heroic Gardens
Heroic Gardens is a nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting veterans with the healing power of nature through gardening and horticultural therapy. From backyard transformations to community revitalization projects, their work fosters growth, healing, and connection for those who have served.

In 2024 alone, over 20 EDA employee volunteers dedicated 197 hours to support their mission—not only through fundraising, but through hands-on work like building planter boxes and preparing garden spaces. Heroic Gardens was also the title recipient of EDA’s 2024 Charity Golf Outing, raising over $23,000 for initiatives like on-site gardening classes and a veteran-run U-Pick Sunflower Field. In recognition of this impactful partnership, the Philadelphia Business Journal named EDA and Heroic Gardens a 2025 Partners in Philanthropy honoree.

Janine Hee Memorial Foundation
The Janine Hee Memorial Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring the legacy of Janine Hee by supporting individuals and families facing challenging times. Through scholarships, financial assistance, and acts of kindness, the foundation spreads hope and compassion while keeping Janine’s spirit of positivity and service alive.

In addition to supporting the foundation's annual fundraising event, the 2022 EDA Cares Golf Outing raised $20,000 for the foundation.

Make-A-Wish Philadelphia, Delaware & Susquehanna Valley
This chapter of Make-A-Wish grants life-changing wishes to children with critical illnesses, offering hope, strength, and joy during difficult times. Serving kids ages 2½ to 18, the chapter has granted over 8,000 wishes and continues to transform lives through the generosity of donors, sponsors, and the community.

EDA has assisted in helping multiple wishes come true. One example is 4-year-old Nicholas, whose dream was to be a construction worker for a day. With the help of Make-A-Wish and our generous partners, EDA transformed its backyard into a custom jobsite where Nicholas served as our honorary “Chief Excavating Officer.”

Med13L Foundation
The MED13L Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness, advancing research, and supporting families affected by the rare neurodevelopmental disorder MED13L. Founded by Kelly Sexton after her two sons were diagnosed, the foundation has grown into a vital network for families, advocates, and researchers working to better understand and treat this condition.

In addition to selling limited-edition EDA cooling headbands, EDA has partnered with the foundation on initiatives like the "Show Your Tags" fundraiser to help amplify their mission and impact.

Turning Points for Children
Turning Points for Children is a Philadelphia-based nonprofit that provides vital social and health services to support families and children in underserved communities. As a subsidiary of the Public Health Management Corporation, the organization focuses on breaking the cycle of poverty through programs in primary care, behavioral health, parenting, workforce readiness, and early childhood education.

EDA Cares is proud to continue its partnership with Turning Points for Children through volunteer opportunities, donations, and events like the annual Holiday Heroes gift drive. In addition to wrapping and delivering presents each holiday season, EDA has also provided construction services and ongoing support to help advance Turning Points’ mission.

The Strides Collective

The Strides Collective is a nonprofit that produces and develops theatrical work by playwrights that embraces the queer experience through innovative storytelling.

This is a new 2025 Charity of Choice and EDA is excited to start this partnership.
