What brought you to the construction industry?
I’ve been around construction most of my life - my dad had his own subcontracting company for a long time, and my brother owns his own landscaping business. So, I guess you could say construction was brought to me.
Can you briefly explain what you do at EDA?
I am one of three Safety Coordinators working for EDA. Safety can be approached poorly in construction, but EDA has a great perception toward it. The goal is to try and help everyone think a little bit differently about what they do every day on a site.
What are some things that most people don't know about you?
I have four half-brothers, three of them are married. I’ve got 8 nephews and 3 nieces total.
What is the biggest challenge you've faced in work? How did you overcome it?
Getting the roofers to like me. Just kidding… but they’re tough. Food always helps.
What has been the best part about your experience working with EDA?
Getting out into the field while working with different crews and scopes every day. Seeing a project come together is extremely satisfying.
What is your favorite EDA value, and why?
My favorite value is “Build Trust”. Construction is a people business – a lack of trust is not only detrimental to an individual’s success, but a businesses’ as well. With building trust and relationships, all the other values come to fruition.
