#Duckumentary - Ed Dever

Today we speak with Roofing Foreman, Ed Dever!

What did you do before your time at EDA?

Before I worked at EDA, I was a personal trainer at LA Fitness.

What brought you to the construction industry?

The reason I got into construction was that I had a desire to have a better paying job with good health care and benefits.

What are some things that most people don't know about you?
Some things that people don’t know about me is that I love the Jersey Shore, fishing, crabbing, the beach in general, and spending time with my family.

If you weren’t in the construction industry, where would you be today?

If I wasn’t in the construction industry, I probably would have continued with something in the sports and fitness industry.

If you could work in any other trade or department here at EDA, where would you be?

That’s a tough one. I really enjoy roofing and being a Foreman. I don’t really have a desire to be anywhere else.

What is the biggest challenge you've faced in work?

The biggest challenge I’ve faced at work is dealing with other trades. I really like to be focused on my guys and what we are doing… but on new construction projects, most of waterproofing and roofing is tied together with the work of other trades.

What has been the best part about your experience working with EDA?

EDA has presented me with the opportunity to grow from a First-Year Apprentice to a Foreman. EDA really gives people the opportunity to learn and grow.

What is your favorite EDA value, and why?

My favorite EDA value is Strive to Improve. Every day that we work is an opportunity to learn and to get even better.
