#Duckumentary - Ady Tibrewal

Today we speak with Project Manager, Ady Tibrewal!

What do you do here at EDA?
I work as a project manager in the Operations division, where I help coordinate construction activities, manage documentation, and keep projects moving smoothly from design through delivery and closeout. I handle submittals, field reports, and collaborate closely with our teams to tackle both technical and logistical challenges. Every day brings something new, and I enjoy keeping things on track while problem-solving on the fly.

What’s your favorite thing about working with your team or department?
It really comes down to trust and chemistry — everyone genuinely has each other’s back. We collaborate seamlessly, and the range of personalities brings a great energy to the team. Even on the more stressful days, there’s always someone ready to help out, brainstorm a solution, or crack a joke at the right moment. There’s a shared sense of ownership that makes the work feel meaningful.

Outside of work, do you have any favorite activities or hobbies?
I like to stay active — I try to log at least 10K a week running, and lately I’ve been mixing in kettlebell workouts for a change of pace. On the slower days, you’ll find me painting, checking out new food spots, or spending quality time with friends. I like to keep things balanced between movement, creativity, and connection.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given relating to your job or career?
“Don’t aim to know everything — aim to stay curious and listen before talking.” It’s stuck with me because it encourages openness, humility, and constant learning. In an industry that evolves so quickly, being curious and genuinely listening to others can make all the difference — whether you’re troubleshooting in the field or sitting across from a client.

What’s one thing you never leave home without?
Something to take notes on — whether it’s my iPad and Apple Pencil or just my phone, I’m constantly jotting down thoughts, to-dos, or things to follow up on. My brain feels a lot calmer when ideas live somewhere outside my head. It helps me keep track of the constantly evolving parts of a project.

Cats or dogs? Why?
Dogs — no contest. I grew up with three tiny, scrappy little dogs, and they’ve set the standard for loyalty and joy. They’re goofy, always excited to see you, and somehow just always know when you need them. They just get it.

What is your favorite part of your job?
Seeing a building come to life after months of coordination, adjustments, and collaboration. There’s something incredibly rewarding about standing on-site and realizing that piece by piece, with creative problem-solving and teamwork, you helped bring something real into the world.

If you were planning your favorite meal, what’s on the menu?
I’d start with some spicy tuna and dragon rolls, then dive into a big, comforting bowl of ramen. Add a side of crispy Brussels sprouts — or something funky and flavorful, depending on the vibe.

How do you stay updated on industry trends and advancements, and are there any recent developments that have caught your attention?
I keep up with updates from ASTM and the American Institute of Architects, along with building envelope case studies and new products we’re seeing on job sites. Lately, there’s been a noticeable push around sustainable insulation and integrated waterproofing systems — innovations that are really shaping how we approach smarter, more resilient buildings. Giovanni, my senior project manager, and I also try to hit up the latest expos or build events around the tri-state area when we can. On top of that, I’m currently in grad school for project management, which is helping me grow in leadership and business strategy on top of the day-to-day technical work.

What’s your proudest accomplishment, either in your professional or personal life?
Professionally, I’d say helping turn around a project that was in a tough spot — getting it back on track and seeing it through to successful completion was incredibly satisfying. On a personal level, I’m proud of how I’ve maintained deep, meaningful relationships through life’s many transitions. That takes consistency, intention, and a lot of heart — and it’s something I truly value.
