waterproofing
Every building with a basement will need a waterproofing system. EDA is experienced with installing foundation waterproofing, under slab waterproofing, and elevator pit waterproofing. Our philosophy is that waterproofing is the foundation for a leak-free building envelope.
Types of Waterproofing
Blindside WP
For those construction sites where the building is positioned on the property line, the waterproofing membrane is installed first by attaching to the shoring wall. Concrete is then formed on one side and poured. The heat and weight of the concrete fuses the membrane to the concrete.
Foundation WP
Foundation waterproofing is the common form of applying a waterproofing membrane to the outside of a foundation wall below grade. The most common forms of waterproofing are asphaltic membrane adhered to the wall.
Underslab WP
Underslab waterproofing is the process of installing a waterproofing membrane horizontally on grade before the concrete is placed. Once in place, concrete slab is poured. The heat and weight of the concrete bond with the membrane and a watertight system is in place.
Metal Oxide WP
Catalyzed metallic waterproofing treatment is the mixture of clean commercial pulverized cast iron mixed with a chemical oxidizing agent. This material, when mixed with cement and water, is applied to below grade interior spaces, most commonly elevator pits.
Traffic Coatings
Traffic coating is a liquid applied material, often mixed with another product designed to protect concrete surfaces from vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
