#Duckumentary - Neil McGinnis

This month we are proud to feature examples of how our EDA family is #SuccessfulTogether with our community through EDA Cares. As one of our frequent volunteers, Neil talks to us for this week's #Duckumentary about his passion for giving back.

When did you join the EDA Family?

A little over 10 years! There are actually a few other guys that I’ve worked with from before EDA: Kodi (Nixon, Foreman), Chris (Hallahan, Foreman), and Vince (Costanza, Foreman).

As a dedicated member of EDA Cares, why are you passionate about volunteering in the community?

For a long time in my life I just took, took, took and now I find if you really give from the heart, give without asking for something in return, then you get a lot back.

What is a time that you remember our EDA Family working Successful Together with a community partner?

For Kyle’s Basement Remodel we did for Make-A-Wish, Kevin Smith, Tony Melle and I came to help Kodi out with the job. It’s all about giving back so we were happy to help each other out and meet up after work to get this done.

Do you like being able to use your trade while on the job site and giving back to the community?

Yeah, at first, I never looked at it like that. I always looked at what can I do to make money off my trade, earning extra money from side work. So yeah, I love being able to help out with projects like the Edison 64 [VMC Center] planters and Kyle’s basement remodel, as a carpenter. I love it, and finally found that giving back is inspiring and gratifying.

Why does volunteering make you feel proud to work at EDA?

I enjoy working for EDA because they place values first, which I believe is pretty different than other companies. Everything that we stand for is just about living life the right way, having fun, and giving back. You know, good Karma.

Successful Together.
