What’s your favorite thing about working with your team/department?
My favorite thing about working with my team/department is the people that I work with. The operations department is blessed with amazing people who not only provide help when needed but also provide a lot of encouragement along the way. The best part is that we are all learning together every day.
Outside of work, do you have any favorite activities or hobbies?
When I am not at work, I am busy being a mom; the kids keep me busier than ever with their sports and extracurriculars, but I couldn’t be prouder. I refer to myself as a “mom Uber” when not at work. When I am not momming; I enjoy the beach in the summer, skiing in the winter, or a nice hike in the fall (with a waterfall). And while I am at home, I love to watch Big Brother, Real Housewives, or really any reality show.
What’s the best piece of advice you have been given relating to your job/career?
The best piece of advice I have received relating to my job/career is that honesty builds trust. If you feel as if you might not be right at that moment in time, stick to being honest about what is going on and that will go a long way.
What’s one thing you never leave home without?
I hate to admit it, but I could never leave home without my phone. I would even go back for it if it was left behind. With that said, I am so reliant on it that I would never leave home without it anyway.
What do you do here at EDA?
I am an Assistant Project Manager at EDA. I assist the project manager with the everyday ins and outs of a project from start to finish.
Cats or dogs? Why?
I would choose dogs. I have nothing against cats, but throughout my life I have only had dogs, so I naturally favor them.
What is your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part of my job is seeing a project come to life and being a tiny part of that is what I find fulfilling. I also love that each day is different due to the complexity of the projects that I am assigned to.
If you were planning your favorite meal, what’s on the menu?
If I were planning my favorite meal, it would have to be chicken Milanese.
How do you stay updated on industry trends and advancements, and are there any recent developments that have caught your attention?
I stay updated on the industry trends through discussions I have with my colleagues. Also, Lunch-n-Learns that EDA provides play a huge role in staying up to date with the latest and greatest. I also enjoy reading articles on LinkedIn which provide a lot of pivotal information about today’s construction industry.
What's your proudest accomplishment, either in your professional or personal life?
My proudest accomplishment in my life, hands down, are my children. I wouldn’t be who I am without them, and they are my why.
