Before joining the Union and EDA, I worked for my family’s residential interior construction business. We dealt mostly in kitchens and bathroom remodeling.
I grew up on the jobsites and working with my family, so construction has always been a part of my life. I really do love what I do, I enjoy the challenges and working hard, it’s all really rewarding.
One thing that most people don’t know about me is that I am a musician and spend a lot of weekends getting to play all over this area’s great venues and events. I went to college for Marine Science, which is always good for random ocean facts.
If I wasn’t in the field or on a stage/studio, I’d probably be teaching high school science of some kind. I’ve always been drawn to teaching.
I would like to see the work EDA does typically from the Project Manager prospective. I enjoy the process of getting all of the “ducks” in a row for a project as much as the one site work.
The biggest challenge since starting with EDA has been learning our systems and the typical systems that are involved across several trades. Thankfully, there’s never been a moment that anyone around me hasn’t been more than helpful in giving me crash courses in whatever I’m curious of or unsure of. The best advice I was given before starting was to be a sponge, and it has made all the difference.
My work experience before EDA, a small family construction business, had so many similarities as far as core values and responsibilities go… but getting the opportunity to be part of this huge team that’s constantly growing and pushing to incorporate more and outdo itself has made me enjoy the work that drew me to this field and this career in the first place even more.
I really gravitate towards our company promise, successful together. I have had the opportunity to join a company/team that acts like a family, supports itself, and is never short on helping hands.
