What’s your favorite thing about working on your crew?
Feeling helpful and building relationships.

I take great joy in helping people out, especially if they’re struggling. I don’t think I possess some special talent or skill that gives me an edge, but sometimes all it takes is another set of eyes, ears, or hands to make things easier. Roadblocks can steal your focus from an obvious solution, so I like to work through problems step by step with coworkers. More often than not, the solution reveals itself in the process — and it’s a great way to build trust, which is the foundation of strong working relationships.

If you won the lottery, what’s the first thing you would do with your winnings?
Mom gets a house!

I’d hand a bunch over to financial advisors to help secure my family’s future, then figure out how to make some positive change in the world. But yeah — Mom gets hooked up first.

How do you stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and safety protocols?
By keeping in contact with my people — all the good folks I’ve worked with over the years.

I like following their individual journeys, and when I see someone post something innovative or trend-setting on LinkedIn, I steal it and pass it off as my own… kidding. 😄
In all seriousness, maintaining relationships goes a long way in staying informed.

Outside of work, what are some of your hobbies or interests?
I’m big on nature and spend a lot of my time outside. Hiking is probably my favorite activity, and I usually plan my vacations around it.

Food is the other big one. Honestly, it’s probably the thing that makes me happiest outside of relationships. There’s no shortage of good eats in Philly — my hood.

What’s one thing you personally must have with you on a jobsite?
Water. Nothing’s worse than wondering if you can make it to break once you run out.

Cats or dogs? And why?
Doggos — but I’ve got a lot of love for cats too.

I lean toward dogs because they can be daft and silly, but cats are basically superheroes. Moody superheroes.

What’s the best piece of advice you’d give an apprentice, or the best advice you received as one?
Safety, then work.

Also, dependability is the best ability.

One more thing — smother your coworkers with thoughtfulness and respect. Kill them with kindness.

And lastly, hold onto every single stupid dad joke you hear. Archive them like you’re the last living human being. Certain things deserve to live forever.

Is there anything else about you, your family, or your home life you’d like to share?
The only things that truly matter in this lifetime are the relationships we build and the experiences we have.

Treat strangers like friends, friends like family, and family like you’re never going to see them again.

Can you share one new thing you’ve learned on the job or a best practice that helps save time, energy, or keeps you safer?
Do it now.

If it’s fresh in your mind, get it done. And if you see something, say something — now. Don’t let things linger.

How do you manage stress and maintain a positive mindset in a high-pressure environment like construction?
Keep your feelings out of it.

Logical, cool-headed, adult conversations for the win. Don’t get sucked into petty drama. Stick to the facts and keep it professional.
