Before working at EDA, I attended the University of Arizona, studying Journalism and Marketing. I moved to Philadelphia after graduation in 2022 and joined the EDA team shortly after.
Nothing in particular brought me to the construction industry. It was just how the cards fell. I didn’t expect to be working in the construction industry, but it has shown me the importance of this industry and all the opportunities it provides.
I run EDA’s social media accounts, sharing the great work that our field employees do each day. As part of the marketing team, I aim to share company news, innovative practices, and unique offerings with both internal and external stakeholders. This gives our company a voice and helps us stay relevant and continue to grow in the construction industry. More recently, I have been testing ads in new markets and running targeted advertisements about specific projects we have worked on to secure bids.
Some things most people don’t know about me is that I am an avid backpacker! I love to hike and camp as much as possible, especially when the weather is nice. In college I fostered dogs from the local shelter. I would HIGHLY recommend fostering animals if you are able to. It is such a rewarding experience. I also really enjoy cooking. Experimenting with different foods is my favorite way to be creative. There is nothing better than the outdoors and good food!
Realistically, if I wasn’t in this industry I would be working in marketing for another industry, but it would be AWESOME to be doing something revolving around cooking or being outdoors like a private chef/park ranger. Although, I think keeping both of those things as hobbies is better 😊
I love being in the Marketing department, but if I could work in any other trade here at EDA I would enjoy learning more about the Project Management/Estimating side.
The primary challenge I've encountered here at EDA revolves around demonstrating my role's value and the necessity of a Social Media Coordinator. Others in the organization might find it difficult to grasp what I do, and why it's essential for EDA. Hopefully this Duckumentary helps with that and offers some insight!
The best part about working with EDA is the people. Moving from California to Philadelphia I didn’t know many people here so coming to EDA and being surrounded by so many kind/like minded people has made my time here invaluable and has made me feel more at home.
My favorite EDA value is Live Proactively. Your life is the product of the thing you do each day so it’s important to do things with care and intent.
